New Projects at E&I

E&I Specialists Estimating Team has been hard at work bidding various jobs in the area. We are happy to report that their hard work has paid off as E&I will be taking on several new jobs in the coming months.

Siouxland Ethanol Storage/Transfer Station

During the middle of June, E&I will be starting on the Siouxland Ethanol Storage/Transfer station. This station will be located just outside of Hudson, SD. This project will include the construction of rail and truck load/unload skids, and 5,000 feet of street lighting.

Agri-Energy

E&I will the electrical contractor for the expansion of the Agri-Energy plant in Luverne, MN. This expansion will include upgrading the control system, expansion of a fermentor tank and rework on the existing fermentation system. This project will also include installing a UPS system for controls. Several E&I employees have already been working on the primary stages of the expansion.

Dakota Ethanol

Dakota Ethanol, located in Wentworth, SD, began production in September of 2001. Since then it has exceeded its original capacity of 40 million gallons to produce 48 million annually.1 To this original plant, E&I will be working with other contractors to construct an RIO panel, sieve vaporizer, and miscellaneous instrumentation around the plant. We also will be installing new 225A 120/240V services and new lighting in EVAP.

Lewis and Clark Well Fields, Vermillion, SD

The Lewis and Clark Well Fields is a section of the Lewis & Clark Regional Water System. Construction for the water system began late 2003 and is expected to be completed by 2019, depending on several factors. The main purpose behind the water system is reflected in the mission statement for the project, “To develop and operate a high quality three state water supply system to serve the growing needs of the Region.”

E&I is currently working on the well fields which will draw from an adjacent aquifer instead of directly from the Missouri River. The primary wells will be located at Mulberry Point, which is just west of the Vermillion-Newcastle Bridge. The secondary wells will be located just a couple miles west of the primary wells. The well system, when completed, will have the ability to deliver 45 to 48 MGD to the treatment plant.2 Work on the 1st phase is 90% complete and bidding is expected soon on the 2nd phase.
