Text Box: Handbook Update: Driver’s License Requirement
Text Box: As of March 10, 2008, E&I’s employee handbook has been updated to include an amendment concerning motor vehicle reports. This amendment will require all employees to have a valid driver’s license.

E&I has always had an unwritten policy concerning employees having a driver’s license. This is in part to the fact that from time to time employees may be asked to complete a task requiring them to drive a motor vehicle or operate equipment on site.

Those who do not currently have a driver’s license will be required to begin the process of obtaining one. The Human Resources Department will be following up with those who do not have licenses to ensure that an attempt is being made to abide by the new policy.

If you did not receive a copy of the policy or if you have questions please call Beth at 605-368-9693.

100,000 Man Hour Target Reached!

On  February 2, 2008 E&I employees reached the goal of 100,000 man hours without a lost time

accident. In appreciation of this accomplishment, E&I will be distributing embroidered duffel bags to all full-time employees in the near future.

Since we have met the original goal, a new one has been set. Keep in mind that the larger the goal, the greater the incentive once we reach that goal. Our new milestone for the safety incentive is 250,000 man hours.

A Few Words From Joe...

I would like to thank everyone on the Ohio sites for their hard work and dedication this past year.  You all showed excellent team work and enthusiasm.  I could always count on you to stay late or work weekends to get stuff done and your perseverance shows.  We got the first plant going and now the rest should be a piece of cake!  It’s been a pleasure getting to know you all and see your talents at work.  Also, big thanks to Don and the “South Dakota” crew for bringing your expertise and experience out here!  Now quit reading and get back to work!!
